Andriy Filatov, a Russian propagandist and war correspondent for the Russia Today agency, has gone missing after being targeted by a Ukrainian FPV drone in the Donetsk region, eastern Ukraine. The attack reportedly took place on the morning of Friday, July 25, near the city of Pokrovsk.
According to Russian media reports, Filatov was traveling alone on a motorcycle when he was hit by a first-person-view (FPV) attack drone. After the strike, Russian forces allegedly found the destroyed motorcycle and some of his personal belongings at the scene. However, there has been no contact with the journalist since then.

A camera was also recovered at the attack site, containing footage showing how Filatov was hunted by the Ukrainian drone.
According to Ukrainian journalist and serviceman Yuriy Butusov, Filatov was heading toward an operational area controlled by the 414th Separate Brigade of Unmanned Maritime Systems, known as “Birds of Magyar”. It is suspected that this brigade carried out the attack, although no official confirmation has been issued so far.
Filatov is known for his role as a Kremlin propagandist, covering the Ukrainian conflict from a pro-Russian perspective. His disappearance raises new concerns over the use of FPV drones by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to eliminate strategic targets on the front lines.
