Russian state-owned company Rostec has announced a significant upgrade to the portable anti-tank system Kornet, which now features new ammunition and a loading module capable of firing up to four projectiles instead of just one.

The change represents a major leap in the system’s combat capability, according to a press release from the company.

The upgrade was developed by the consortium Vysokotochnye Kompleksy, a part of Rostec. The new solution allows four 9М134 Bulat missiles to be integrated into each system unit, quadrupling the number of available shots and expanding the range of targets that can be engaged.

Experts say the new Bulat missiles make the Kornet more versatile, enabling its use against targets that previously did not justify employing the more powerful standard missile. The updated weapon is already in the experimental testing phase.
