The Russian Ministry of Defense has revealed the Mi-8PSG, an adapted version of the renowned Mi-8 helicopter, designed for search and rescue missions in combat zones.
The aircraft features an expanded crew, including a team leader, rescuer, and paramedic, as well as six gunners responsible for ensuring security during operations.
The Mi-8PSG is equipped with an electronic defense suite, capable of detecting enemy systems, neutralizing guided missiles, and automatically deploying thermal countermeasures. Additional armor protects both the crew and the aircraft’s critical systems.

According to the Ministry of Defense, Mi-8PSG units are already in operation, accompanying daily missions of the Russian Army’s aviation in the so-called “special military operation,” ensuring immediate rescue in critical situations.
