In Kamchatka, the naval tactical groups of the water area protection unit of the Northeast Russia Troops and Forces Command left their base to practice withdrawing forces under attack from a simulated enemy. During the exercise, to overcome a mine danger area, the minesweepers escorted ship detachments using drag nets.

Additionally, the naval aviation actively participated, addressing practical problems according to the exercise plan. The anti-submarine aircraft Tu-142MZ, Il-38, and Il-38N conducted reconnaissance flights searching for submarines and ships of a potential enemy at sea.

Previously, the Primorye Flotilla forces of the heterogeneous forces of the Pacific Fleet were positioned in designated areas in the Sea of Japan. The bilateral tactical exercises of the Pacific Fleet force groups are being held from June 18 to 28 in the Pacific Ocean, the Sea of Japan, and the Sea of Okhotsk, under the overall leadership of the Pacific Fleet Commander, Admiral Viktor Liina.

In total, about 40 ships, boats, and support vessels, as well as approximately 20 planes and helicopters from the Pacific Fleet’s naval aviation, are involved in the exercise. Marine units of the Pacific Fleet and combat teams of the Bal and Bastion coastal missile systems are also participating in the exercises.
