A chemical industry company in Russia has launched a tender to acquire aerostats intended to protect its facilities against attacks from Ukrainian drones.

The project, valued at more than US$108,000, plans to install the system in a factory located in the Tula region, where several industrial complexes of this type operate.

According to the Russian portal Daily Storm, the manufacturing and installation of the structure are expected to be completed in about a month, under the responsibility of the company Stratospheric Systems. The system will consist of multiple aerostats connected through a special network, designed to intercept enemy drones, and will also include electronic warfare equipment.

Experts, however, question the effectiveness of the initiative. Maintaining such an aerial barrier continuously in operation is considered unfeasible. Therefore, the aerostats are expected to be activated only in maximum alert situations or based on intelligence regarding potential aerial threats.
