As part of fulfilling the state defense order, airborne combat vehicles BMD-2 were also transferred to the troops; these underwent major repairs and received modernization elements.
Protections and improvements
The BMP-3s in this batch were equipped with anti-cumulative grilles, armored screens, and upper hemisphere protection kits. Each vehicle also received a “cover” made from synthetic heat-insulating and radar-absorbing material, designed to reduce thermal and radar visibility.
Additionally, all armored vehicles now feature electronic warfare equipment, expanding their protection capability against modern threats.
Statement from Rostec

According to Bekkhan Ozdoev, industrial director of Rostec’s Arms Cluster, armored vehicle production continues at a steady pace:
“Armored vehicle production at Rostec companies operates 24 hours a day. The modernization work takes into account the experience gained from operating these vehicles in the special military operation zone. The military values the BMP and BMD for their mobility, firepower, and ease of operation, even under adverse conditions.”
Relevance on the battlefield

Rostec emphasized that the infantry fighting vehicles and airborne vehicles produced by the holding are among the most used equipment on the front line. According to the state corporation, these platforms perform multiple combat functions daily in the operation zone.
