Romania has signed a contract to acquire tactical armored vehicles Enok AB, which will be adapted to operate with Israeli-made Spike LR2 anti-tank missiles.

The model is based on the 464 series of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class and was designed by the German company ACS Armored Car Systems. These vehicles will be incorporated into the country’s elite units, with deliveries scheduled for 2026.

The Enok AB stands out for its modular aluminum construction (MSF), which allows quick field adaptations with minimal adjustments. Compact and agile, it features a six-cylinder diesel engine, reaches speeds up to 140 km/h, and has smaller dimensions compared to other vehicles in its category. Additionally, it is equipped with anchoring rings to facilitate air transport.

Romania already uses the Spike LR system and, at the end of 2023, signed an agreement with EuroSpike GmbH, a partnership between German and Israeli companies, to purchase the LR2 version.

ACS highlighted that this type of vehicle is essential for mobile anti-tank defense strategies, citing the conflict in Ukraine as an example of the effectiveness of this combat model.
