Ram made headlines this week after its mechanical bull, inspired by its Hemi engine, was reportedly stolen following an event in Michigan.

The disappearance of the Bucking Hemi, also called the Symbol of Protest, caused a stir, and the company even created a “missing poster” for the piece, with a spokesperson telling Motor1 that it was not a marketing stunt.

It now appears to have been found. Despite Ram’s initial claim, it seems the bull was not stolen, but rather “taken by mistake” after last weekend’s event.

“After 67 hours […], Bucking Hemi returned home. It was taken by mistake by one of the program contractors, who realized the error after media coverage drew attention to it,” the brand said in a statement.

Fortunately, Ram’s mechanical bull was found safely. That said, the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department was not too pleased with the situation.

“I find this very frustrating and a tremendous waste of valuable investigative time,” said Michael Bouchard, Oakland County Sheriff.

“Now, we are reviewing whether a crime was committed by filing a false police report,” Bouchard added in the statement.
