Quantum Systems took only six months to develop the Jäger Interceptor drone, the company revealed to the site Militarnyi.
Using its hybrid launch system, the drone can reach an altitude of 4,000 meters in just 30 seconds with the help of its rocket engine and then quickly transition to conventional flight powered by its electric motor.
The company took only six months to develop the drone. “Over the past six months, German operational and engineering teams have worked intensively to create the kinetic C‑UAS Jäger solution with the aim of rapidly increasing Ukraine’s capabilities to counter drones,” the company stated to Militarnyi.
As previously reported by the German site hartpunkt, the Jäger operates on the principle of “hit to kill,” meaning it destroys its target through direct kinetic impact without using explosives.
This means the system is independent of warhead production, which in turn reduces the drone’s cost, estimated at “a few thousand euros.”
The drone is already being tested at the Grafenwöhr training center in Germany, while the company prepares for serial production of the interceptor.
Quantum Systems expects to complete development work this year, with operational tests and validations scheduled for early 2026.
