Quantum Systems has already started producing the first prototypes of the Twister drones to deliver them to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the Ukrainian outlet Militarnyi, the announcement was made by Alexander Berezhny, Managing Director of Quantum Systems in Ukraine. “The active phase of the combat deployment of the Twister will begin in the near future,” he confirmed to the publication.

The Twister was designed for missions that require a compact tactical reconnaissance drone. Its small size and weight of just 3.8 kg mean it does not require catapults or other launch systems thanks to its ability to take off and land vertically (VTOL).

According to the developers, the drone’s range is up to 15 kilometers, within which it can operate for up to 90 minutes. The deployment time to combat readiness is only 2 minutes.

In its base version, the Twister is equipped with a Nighthawk2 optical module with daytime and thermal imaging channels. If necessary, the module can be replaced in the field without requiring significant modifications to the UAV structure.

Another option is the ability to relay signals to extend the range of other Quantum Systems drones, including the Vector drones, which are widely used by the Ukrainian military.

The company is also ready to scale up production to meet the needs of Ukrainian customers. However, it is worth noting that the Twister drone has not yet undergone testing by the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
