Porsche Classic has decided to relaunch its traditional seat and upholstery fabrics, in an initiative covering models from the old 356 to the latest versions of the 911.
In particular, the return of the Pepita, Pasha, and Tartan patterns stands out—fabrics that fans associate with specific eras and models.

The Pepita is the well-known houndstooth pattern seen on the 356 and early 911 models, while the Pasha is a chessboard-style graphic with a motor racing flair, notable on the 928 and other Porsches from the late ’70s and ’80s.

The Tartan is a traditional plaid remembered from the 911 Turbo and various earlier 911 versions. Porsche also confirmed that new variants are planned, including the iconic orange lobster pinstripe.
Porsche emphasized that this is not just nostalgia—the fabrics have been reexamined and subjected to tests for fire resistance, fading, colorfastness, and wear.

According to the company, the goal is to provide owners with an original alternative, since the replica market offers materials that are either unsuitable for real use or quickly lose their appearance.

“For us, it was particularly important in this project to maintain our promise of quality regarding the fabrics,” said Ulrike Lutz, director of Porsche’s Classic division, to Top Gear.
“By relaunching these fabrics, we are filling a gap, as most customers want to restore their historic or more recent classic cars to as close to their original condition as possible.”
