Porsche has issued a recall for 878 units of the new 911 from the 992.2 generation due to a headlight issue that can blind other drivers when the rear fog lights are on.
The issue affects models produced between June and December of last year and is related to the HD-Matrix LED lighting system, which incorrectly adjusts the low beam angle on the driver’s side.
The fix is simple and involves a software update to the control module, which will be performed at dealerships.
In addition to this issue, Porsche also announced a recall for the 2023 911 due to a defect in the rear seatbelt bolts. In 279 units, an acoustic insulation panel was improperly installed, which could loosen the bolts due to the vehicle’s vibrations. Although the manufacturer has no reports of incidents, tests indicated that the failure could occur. The repair involves tightening the bolts and repositioning the panel, if necessary.
Porsche will notify dealerships about the recalls next week and will send notifications to owners in April. Both issues have relatively simple solutions, but they highlight the importance of rigorous inspections to ensure vehicle safety.
