In June 2025, former Ukrainian president Petro Poroshenko handed over 92 ATVs to the Ukrainian Armed Forces as part of a personal initiative to reinforce troop mobility on the front line.
The donation includes 57 cargo vehicles and 35 utility vehicles, totaling over 30 million hryvnias in equipment, according to Poroshenko.
The vehicles play a crucial role in reconnaissance, patrolling, and supply operations, allowing soldiers to move quickly over difficult terrain and receive essential supplies such as weapons, ammunition, and food more efficiently. Additionally, the ATVs are used for evacuating the wounded, helping to increase the survival chances of soldiers injured in combat.
Russia has also been using similar vehicles in attempts to advance, especially near the border with the Sumy region. In one of these offensives, a Ukrainian soldier managed to capture four Russian soldiers after a failed ATV attack.
Poroshenko’s action highlights the strategic importance of mobility on the battlefield.

This delivery is a record for us — there has never been such a lack of space in our parking lot. We worked very hard, and a hundred ATVs fit in. But not for long — soon they will be on the front lines.
For assault, for rapid delivery of ammunition and evacuation. Where vehicles cannot pass… pic.twitter.com/9JWU3OCoEA
