The incident happened in Piscataway Township when officers Devin Hinchcliffe and John Ward found the car blocking the railway line.
According to the police, the driver, who was disoriented and unable to get out of the car on his own, was pulled out by the officers as the crossing gates were closing. Footage from the patrol car’s camera captured the moment the officers managed to remove him just in time, seconds before the train passed and destroyed the vehicle.
Authorities praised the quick and effective action of the police, highlighting that their attitude prevented a tragedy.
