Poland is testing seven acoustic drone detection systems as part of its Tarcza Wschód (East Shield) program aimed at strengthening the country’s border defense.

According to Defence Blog, the acoustic systems are currently being tested at the Central Air Force training range in Ustka. The testing effort is being organized by the Innovation Department of Poland’s Ministry of National Defence.

In addition to reconnaissance equipment, Polish forces have also tested electronic warfare (EW) systems. Manufacturers of the evaluated systems stated they use artificial intelligence (AI) tools and confirmed readiness to integrate with Polish military command systems.

The tests are part of the Tarcza Wschód (East Shield) program, launched in early 2025 by Poland’s Ministry of Defence to protect its borders amid increasing Russian equipment activity on NATO’s eastern flank.
