Poland has signed a new contract to reinforce its Wisła air defense system. The agreement, made between the Armaments Agency and Military Aviation Plant No. 1 (WZŁ-1), calls for the delivery of 56 mobile communication centers (MCCs) between 2027 and 2030.
The vehicles, mounted on the Jelcz P112.57 10×10 truck chassis and equipped with antennas, were developed by the national defense industry with its own technologies. Their main function will be to ensure connectivity between the different elements of the Wisła system, such as launchers, radars, and IBCS command posts, while also maintaining a link with higher-level command systems.
The Wisła program, which aims to integrate the country’s air defense and missile defense capabilities, already included the delivery of two divisions of the Patriot PAC-3+ system in its first phase, at a cost of approximately $4.75 billion. The second phase involves the acquisition of three additional divisions, bringing the total to six additional batteries.
