The Polish Ministry of Defense has signed a contract with AMZ-KUTNO S.A. for the supply of approximately 250 multi-seat ambulances for the Armed Forces, in a deal worth over US$ 217 million.

According to the specialized outlet Defence24, the agreement includes not only the delivery of the vehicles but also logistics and training packages, ensuring full support for the operation of the new ambulances.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz stated that the goal is to strengthen the medical capabilities of the Polish Armed Forces while supporting the national defense industry.

“We are developing the Polish Armed Forces and supporting local industry. We have signed a contract for the delivery of nearly 250 medical vehicles intended for evacuation at all levels of medical support,” the minister wrote on his official X account.

The ambulances will be based on the robust German chassis of the Mercedes-Benz Unimog, a 4×4 truck widely recognized for its high mobility and payload capacity of up to 5 tons. The model is already used by various armies worldwide as a platform for medical evacuation vehicles.
Each unit will be equipped with modern hospital-grade equipment and capable of transporting up to four injured personnel simultaneously, providing emergency care on roads and rough terrain under diverse climatic and geographical conditions typical of Europe.
In addition, the vehicles will feature Polish-made radios compatible with NATO communication systems, allowing direct integration with allied forces without the need for additional adaptations.
