The Polish Army has placed an order for 58 ROSOMAK armored vehicles equipped with new ZSSW-30 combat modules. Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa SA (PGZ) announced that the contract is valued at approximately 2.6 billion zlotys ($659 million).

Deliveries of the ready armored vehicles are scheduled for 2026 and 2027. The contract also includes a logistics package with spare parts. The vehicle components will be manufactured by Polish companies Huta Stalowa Wola SA, Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa SA, Rosomak SA, and WB Electronics SA.

In 2023, the Polish Army received for the first time Rosomak armored vehicles armed with the new ZSSW-30 combat module. This equipment is designed to combat armored targets and enemy fortifications, as well as provide fire support to units during combat operations.

The ZSSW-30 combat module is equipped with a 30mm Mk.44S automatic cannon, adapted for the use of programmable ammunition. It also features a dual launcher for the Spike-LR anti-tank missile system.

The remotely controlled system includes an automated fire control system developed by WB Electronics, stabilized PCO sights with thermal imaging cameras, a laser rangefinder, and an SSP-1 Obra active protection system.

The ZSSW-30 competes with the Italian-licensed Hitfist-30P turrets, which have already been used as a base for these combat vehicles. Due to the increased weight and consequent deterioration of the vehicle’s speed characteristics, the troop compartment in combat vehicles with the ZSSW-30 turret has been reduced to six people.

Last year, it was announced that Ukraine will receive 200 Rosomak armored vehicles from Poland, which will be delivered in parts. The Rosomak is a licensed version of the Finnish wheeled armored vehicle Patria AMV, produced in Poland in IFV and APC versions.
