Piëch Automotive has unveiled the development of the 1000 horsepower sports car, Piëch GT, with a planned release for 2028.
Founded in 2017 by Rea Stark Rajcic and Toni Piëch, Piëch Automotive presented its first project at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, the Mark Zero. However, the original project faced criticism and difficulties, leading Toni to relaunch the initiative with the assistance of Tobias Moers, former of Mercedes-AMG and Aston Martin, and technical director Ralph Illenberger. Now, the startup is developing the Piëch GT.
The Piëch GT is a sports car featuring a carbon fiber chassis with 16 battery modules totaling 90.0 kWh. These power two electric motors, promising to deliver over 1000 HP and 800 lb-ft of torque, with a top speed of 300 km/h and an acceleration of 0 to 99 km/h in 2.6 seconds.
Piëch highlights the combination of elegant design, inspired by a British touch with German robustness, and the promise of an emotional and personalized driving experience.
The GT offers a wide range of color and finish options, allowing no two cars to be alike. Customizations extend to the car’s software, enabling adjustments in driving modes and the creation of individual soundtracks.
The company plans to expand its lineup with an SUV and a sedan, as well as explore custom productions. Piëch also opts for a traditional sales approach, appointing luxury dealerships, with initial focus on the Middle East and Europe.
Toni Piëch aims to achieve financial balance by 2029, ramping up production to 7000 to 8000 units annually by 2033. With significant support from Middle Eastern investors, Piëch believes the combination of innovative design, advanced engineering, and a strong brand will allow the company to firmly establish itself in the luxury sports car market.
