The design of the 408 is bold and innovative, combining features of sedans and SUVs, with an elevated driving position and an aesthetic that stands out on the road. The model is described as a dynamic fastback, with aggressive lines and an interior space that prioritizes comfort.
In terms of specifications, the 408 lineup starts with a 1.2-liter PureTech gasoline engine, offering 128 hp. Hybrid options are also available, including a plug-in hybrid that offers two power configurations, 178 or 222 hp. The highlight is the electric e-408, which features a 58.2 kWh battery and a 208 hp electric motor, with a range of approximately 450 km.
The interior of the 408 shares similarities with the 308 model, featuring a compact steering wheel and a 10-inch central screen with digital shortcuts. The rear seats offer good knee space but limit height for taller passengers.
Peugeot showcased an original yellow concept of the 408, developed in 2015, which, although impractical, served as inspiration for the design of the current model.
