Recent images shared by the “Russian Federation Strategic Aviation” channel show the presence of 137 trucks of unknown purpose at the Engels-2 airfield, one of Russia’s main strategic aviation bases.

The vehicles are seen parked near an An-12 transport aircraft, raising speculations about a possible movement of weapons for the bombers stationed at the base.

The base has been undergoing continuous expansion since October 2025, including new paved areas both in the southern and northern parts of the airfield. Marks identified during recent excavations indicate the creation of at least 12 new parking spots in the construction area.

Expansion plans were first announced in May, with initial work recorded in March. It is expected that the new spaces will accommodate strategic bombers such as the Tu-95MS and Tu-160, as well as aircraft like the Su-34 and Su-35, thus strengthening the operational capacity of the base.
