North Korea showcased for the first time a new mobile anti-tank missile system during the annual “Defense Development 2025” exhibition in Pyongyang.
Leader Kim Jong Un highlighted the event as a demonstration of the country’s progress in modernizing and expanding its military capabilities. The system is designed to target advanced armored vehicles, fortifications, and enemy troops, offering long-range precision.
The launcher, mounted on a 4×4 vehicle, carries six Bulsae-4 missiles, considered North Korea’s equivalent of the Israeli Spike NLOS. Equipped with electro-optical guidance and top-attack mode, the Bulsae-4 targets the most vulnerable areas of armored vehicles, with a range of 10 to 25 kilometers.
According to the details provided, the system combines mobility with the ability to conduct precise attacks against various types of targets.
The Bulsae-4 has already been used in combat, with reports of its employment by North Korean teams against Ukrainian positions and vehicles. In July 2024, Ukrainian aerial reconnaissance identified the system in operation with Russian forces in the Belgorod region of Russia, a fact later confirmed by Pyongyang.
The system’s use was also recorded in state footage showing missile launches against Ukrainian armored vehicles at the Kursk border between late 2024 and early 2025.
