North Korea announced the neutralization of a South Korean reconnaissance drone that allegedly violated the country’s airspace.

According to information from the Korea Central News Agency (KCNA), a spokesperson from the General Staff of the Korean People’s Army (KPA) stated that the interception took place last week, on January 4th.

The South Korean drone was identified by KPA units moving northward in the sky over the Hado-ri area, Myeongsonggyeong, Ganghwa District, Incheon City.

When the drone was about 8 km inside North Korean airspace, the military neutralized it using electronic warfare equipment, causing it to fall 1,200 meters away in Muksan-ri, Kaephong District, Kaesong Municipality.
