North Korea has developed a wheeled tank based on a copy of the American armored personnel carrier Stryker.

The information was disclosed by the weapons observer of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) KPA_bot on their X account (formerly Twitter).

The combat vehicle was showcased at the National Defense Development Arms Exhibition-2025, which also displayed a new air defense system similar to the Russian Pantsir.

The wheeled tank resembles the American M1128 MGS, a variant where a 105 mm M68A2 rifled gun is mounted on the roof of a Stryker armored personnel carrier.

The model was built on a chassis that was publicly shown in October 2020. However, compared to the final product, the vehicle’s hull has been significantly modernized.

According to the website Militarnyi, the sides were given additional protection with articulated armor, while the headlights were moved to the bumper.

The gun is now housed in a full turret, which is also equipped with mortars to deploy smoke screens, a remote-controlled combat module with a 7.62 mm machine gun, and a panoramic sight located at the rear of the turret.

It is still unknown whether this combat vehicle will go into mass production, but the North Korean defense industry has produced a fairly large number of copies of the Stryker.
