The North Carolina State Highway Patrol in the United States has acquired 25 new Mustang GTs for use in statewide patrols.

These are not the four-cylinder EcoBoost models, but rather GTs equipped with 486-horsepower V-8 engines. The photos posted on the official police Instagram account show the 2024 Mustangs in the traditional silver and black paint.

These vehicles are outfitted with the GT Performance Package, which includes Brembo brakes, enhanced suspension, a Torsen differential, and other features to improve performance.

The police state that the cost of these vehicles is comparable to other models in their fleet. With the production of the Dodge Charger coming to an end, the introduction of the Mustang GT marks a shift for the state police, bringing a more powerful and faster vehicle into service.
