The company may cut production by up to 40,000 units by the end of October, switching to manufacturing the Rogue four days a week instead of five, while Frontier production will also face a similar reduction extending into March next year.
Although Frontier sales increased by 17.1% in the first six months of the year, Rogue sales fell by 4.5%.
Nissan had already asked dealers to sell cars at a loss to reduce high inventory levels, but this measure was not enough to fully resolve the issue, though it did help bring the company’s inventory closer to that of its competitors.
