Nissan has revealed the new Nismo version of the Patrol SUV, exclusive to the Middle East, with a more powerful engine than the recently launched Armada Nismo in the United States.
While the U.S. model offers 460 hp, the Patrol Nismo reaches 495 hp thanks to a specific calibration for the region, although it retains the same 700 Nm of torque. According to the automaker, the difference lies in the superior quality of fuel available in Gulf countries.
In addition to the more powerful engine, the Patrol Nismo features exclusive visual elements, such as the rear fog light inspired by previous models and a design influenced by Formula E. The U.S. Armada Nismo, on the other hand, features a more discreet rear diffuser. Apart from these aesthetic differences and the commercial name, both models share the same platform.
Nissan’s Nismo lineup also includes other standout models, such as the Ariya Nismo, the division’s first 100% electric vehicle, and the Z Nismo, targeted at enthusiasts, though criticized for its high price and lack of a manual transmission.
There are also expectations that the legendary GT-R will return in the future in an electrified Nismo version, possibly based on the Hyper Force concept.
