A DoorDash delivery driver was arrested on Sunday (1) by Washington Township Police in New Jersey. The offender was on his way to deliver an order for a customer.

“Around noon on Sunday, Officer Glatz stopped a vehicle in front of the high school. Officers discovered that the driver was a wanted person with active arrest warrants,” the agency reported on Facebook.

According to Washington Township Police Chief Patrick Gurcsik, the arrest was made after the driver was stopped for a traffic violation during patrol.

“He informed the officers that he had two DoorDash meals in the car that he was in the middle of delivering,” Gurcsik said.

While officers carried out the arrest, the man explained that he was making a DoorDash delivery in the same neighborhood. Two officers stepped in to complete the order.

“Just another day serving the Washington Township community… in more ways than one,” the department said.

“Sergeant Matt Barnett and Officer Mike Scheer helped ensure the delivery was completed,” the post continued. “Teamwork makes the dream work!”

The department apologized to the resident for the surprise and the scare. “We hope the lunch was still warm,” the police added.
