Honda Aircraft Company announced on Thursday, December 18, the launch of the HondaJet APMG S, a new performance upgrade package aimed at owners and operators of HondaJet Classic and HondaJet APMG (Advanced Performance Modification Group) aircraft.

The initiative allows early-generation aircraft to benefit from technical innovations introduced in more recent versions of the platform, such as the HondaJet Elite S.

The APMG S program will be available through Honda Aircraft Company’s Service Center in Greensboro, as well as the manufacturer’s global network of 21 Authorized Service Centers. The company also reported that several shared-ownership HondaJet aircraft have already received the APMG S modifications and are available through the company’s pre-owned aircraft program.

The upgrade package includes avionics software and hardware with increased processing speed, creating a technological foundation that enables future innovations across the legacy HondaJet fleet. Key highlights include the integration of features found on the Elite S, such as the Advanced Steering Augmentation System (ASAS), which improves handling precision and expands operational capability in crosswind conditions.

Another significant enhancement is a 300-pound increase in Maximum Takeoff Weight (MTOW) compared to unmodified aircraft, providing greater operational flexibility and increased available payload. The package also adds Graphical Weight and Balance features, allowing pilots to input load and fuel data to more accurately estimate takeoff and landing weights.

According to Amod Kelkar, senior vice president, chief commercial officer, and large program leader for the HondaJet Echelon, the company aims to maintain a high standard of performance from the beginning of the model’s production. He noted that as the tenth anniversary of the first HondaJet delivery approaches, the manufacturer views the APMG S as a way to extend the technological advancements of the latest aircraft versions to existing customers.

In addition to the technical upgrades, Honda Aircraft Company also offers interior refurbishment options for aircraft receiving the APMG S package at the Greensboro service center. The goal is to enhance asset value and ownership appeal while simultaneously reducing labor costs and downtime by combining services.

The HondaJet APMG S has already been certified by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for installation on U.S.-registered aircraft. Certification for other international markets is expected to follow in subsequent phases.
