Brand confirms the arrival of a 1,200 cc cruiser model for the second half of 2024

BMW’s product manager, Carina Höfler, confirmed the arrival of the R12 line in an interview with journalist Thiago Moreno, from the Motor1 site. The motorcycle will be the brand’s second Heritage model in Brazil.
The R12 line is divided into two models: the R 12 NineT and the cruiser R 12. Both share several components but offer distinct proposals. The roadster R 12 Nine T is designed for both urban use and travel, featuring a minimalist and traditional design that includes a round headlight, a tank with a leg cutout, small seats, a short front fender close to the wheel, as well as a raised rear fender and a short, uplifted tail.

The entry of the BMW R12 into the Brazilian market will put the model in direct competition with the Triumph Bonneville T120. Although the production of the R12 in Manaus has not been confirmed, just the arrival of the model in the country, it is speculated that the likely launch date will be in September 2024.

The new BMW R12s are equipped with an air/oil-cooled boxer engine, with a capacity of 1,170 cm3, delivering 95 hp at 6,500 rpm. This engine is the highlight in the complete redesign of the chassis, promising to be the center of attention among motorcycle enthusiasts.
