Stellantis is replacing its mid-size SUVs, and after the new generations of the Peugeot 3008 and Vauxhall Grandland, it’s time for the Citroën C5 Aircross.
The concept, presented at the 2024 Paris Motor Show, is a preview of the production model expected to arrive in 2025. While details about the interior and engines have not yet been released, Citroën assures that the new C5 will be more comfortable, spacious, and practical than the previous version.
The new C5 Aircross is larger, measuring 4.65 meters in length, providing more legroom for rear passengers. It adopts the brand’s latest design language, sharing visual elements with the C3 and e-C3. Additionally, aerodynamics have been improved, with innovative solutions in the rear bumper to reduce drag and enhance road performance.
The concept is built on the STLA Medium platform, which means it will have options for gasoline, hybrid, and electric engines. The lineup is expected to include a 1.2-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine, a plug-in hybrid system with a range of about 80 km, and a fully electric model with a 98 kWh battery, offering a range of over 640 km.
Citroën also promises that the new chassis will provide superior comfort for up to five occupants during travel.
