Defense Minister Kajsa Ollongren confirmed the decision in a letter addressed to the Dutch House of Representatives.
Dated June 19, the document authorizes the transfer of F-16 fighter jets and seven additional jet engines to Ukraine. The letter emphasizes that the F-16 fighter jets are expected to arrive in Ukraine “in the near future,” although the exact date has not been disclosed.

Minister Ollongren underscored that operational security remains the primary criterion when considering the disclosure of information. “Based on this, as well as agreements within the international coalition, there are currently no further details about this delivery,” the document states.

The letter also informs that the Dutch House of Representatives will be kept confidentially informed about the details of the aircraft delivery. This measure is part of an effort to ensure the security and effectiveness of the operation in accordance with existing international agreements.
