The NATO has launched the military exercise Falcon Strike 2025 in Italy, a major multinational air operation aimed at improving readiness and cooperation among allied forces.

Held from November 3 to 14, the training takes place primarily at Amendola, home to the 32nd Italian Air Wing and one of the F-35 operational centers in the country. Over 1,000 military personnel and 50 aircraft from nations such as Italy, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and Greece are participating, with support from other Italian bases to expand joint actions in various scenarios.

The exercise aims to integrate fourth and fifth-generation aircraft, developing new air combat tactics and strengthening NATO’s collective defense. Among the main training activities is the concept of Agile Combat Employment, which tests the ability of forces to rapidly deploy and operate from dispersed locations while maintaining operational efficiency. Italy, due to its strategic position in the Mediterranean, plays a key role in the Alliance’s air operations.

One of the highlights of Falcon Strike 2025 is the combined use of real flights, digital simulations, and virtual scenarios at the Salto di Quirra training field in Sardinia. This methodology allows the simulation of complex threats and the reproduction of real combat situations. According to the Italian Air Force, the exercise represents “a leap into the future,” reinforcing both the integration of next-generation technologies and NATO’s commitment to security and stability in the Euro-Atlantic region.
