A 1977 Lamborghini Countach LP400 Periscopio that drove itself in a castle in Scotland is leaving many people puzzled.

The “haunted” car, owned by British car collector Simon Kidston, was parked at the Scottish castle when, suddenly, it started on its own and began driving alone in the middle of the night.

The incident was shared by Kidston himself on social media. According to him, no one was behind the wheel at the time, and the event was captured by security cameras.

“Our best guess is a short circuit due to extreme humidity… or a Scottish ghost,” he joked in the caption of an Instagram post.

Fortunately, the Countach stopped against a bush next to the house wall. If the car had turned more toward the passenger side, it would have hit the front wall, and if it had turned a bit more to the left, it could have gone down a slope and fallen into a river.

After removing the Countach from where it parked, Kidston took the incident calmly. There is minor damage to the lower part of the front bumper, which apparently has already been repaired.

“Either way, it’s better than the Countach pointing a little more to the right and ending up embedded in the wall, or a few meters to the left and going down toward the river,” Kidston added in his post.
