A driver who fell 91 meters from a “treacherous” highway in the United States was rescued with minor injuries after the dramatic incident.
The accident occurred last Thursday (October 9), when authorities in Colorado were alerted about a pickup truck that had fallen off the side of Highway 550, also known as the “Million Dollar Highway.”
In a Facebook post, the Ouray Mountain Rescue Team shared photos of the crash, showing the vehicle completely destroyed after plunging into the Uncompahgre River canyon.
Despite the condition of the vehicle, the driver was rescued with only minor injuries. The operation involved the Ouray County Emergency Medical Service, the Ouray Volunteer Fire Department, the Ouray County Sheriff’s Office, the Colorado Department of Transportation, and the Colorado State Patrol.
