The Estonian company Milrem Robotics, with support from the French government, is preparing to deliver six THeMIS tracked drones to Ukraine’s State Emergency Service.

Initially, these drones will be adapted by the French company CNIM Systèmes Industriels, which will equip them with engineering technology, resulting in the final version called ROCUS, capable of detecting and remotely neutralizing explosive devices, increasing the safety of demining teams.

The ROCUS aims to facilitate the safe movement of civilians, protect the environment, assist in agricultural recovery, and help rebuild residential areas in Ukraine. Since 2022, six similar systems have already been operating in the country, and with this new delivery, the fleet will be expanded.

The THeMIS is a multifunctional tracked vehicle, with a maximum speed of 25 km/h and remote control, able to be programmed to navigate between defined points. Compact and robust, it can carry loads up to 1,200 kg, operate autonomously for up to 15 hours, with options for lead-acid or lithium-ion batteries, and is used for transport, reconnaissance, evacuation, or combat operations.
