The 1996 Ferrari F355 GTS, the first one Michael Schumacher owned, was recently auctioned by RM Sotheby’s, but the sale price remains confidential, as does the identity of the buyer.

The car was specially customized for the driver, with a Blu Le Mans exterior color and cream interior, making it a highly valuable item for collectors, especially after Schumacher’s autograph on the driver’s seat.

The vehicle was delivered to Weber Management GmbH, Schumacher’s company, in April 1996, shortly after the driver finished in second place at the Nürburgring Grand Prix.

Schumacher primarily used the car in Monaco, where it underwent its first service at 1,639 km. The model was transferred to a new owner in 2002 and has undergone several maintenance work, including a more recent restoration in 2024.

The F355 GTS model, an icon for Schumacher, features a 3.5-liter V8 engine, producing 381 hp and reaching a top speed of 295 km/h, with a six-speed manual transmission. Although the engine is no longer entirely original, the Ferrari received the “Ferrari Classic” certification in 2020, confirming its authenticity as a classic car.

This vehicle, associated with the beginning of Schumacher’s career at Ferrari, remains a highly valuable piece of both historical and automotive significance.
