Mercedes-AMG prepares an electric supercar to lead a new wave of launches (Instagram @mercedesamg)
Mercedes-Benz is planning a major wave of new product launches in the coming years, with a highlight being an AMG electric supercar concept set to be unveiled later this year.
This model will serve as a showcase for the sports division’s electrification and will preview a dedicated AMG electric sedan and SUV, both expected to arrive by 2027.
Additionally, the brand is expected to launch a new GLB with hybrid and electric versions, while the EQS will be revamped and rebranded under the traditional S-Class nomenclature.
Mercedes’ strategy involves offering multiple powertrain options under the same model names, gradually phasing out the EQ line. The new CLA will be one of the first to follow this approach, featuring both electric and combustion-electrified variants. The electric GLC, expected this year, will share its platform with the future C-Class EV, both available with rear-wheel and all-wheel drive versions.
Other upcoming releases include the facelifted S-Class in 2026, introducing a new design and more advanced autonomous driving technologies, as well as the EQS electric model being rebranded as the S-Class, despite maintaining a distinct platform.
The first fully electric AMG model will launch in 2026, starting with a sedan, followed by an SUV in 2027. Other combustion-powered models, such as the GLE and GLS SUVs, will also receive updates to extend their lifespan until 2030.
Mercedes is also expected to reveal more details about the “baby G-Class” in 2026, ahead of its official launch the following year, aligning with planned changes for the GLB.
