JAS Motorsport, an Italian racing team and manufacturer, has partnered with Pininfarina to build the Tensei, a restomod of the Honda NSX.
Tensei, which translates to “reincarnation” in Japanese, is not only a stunning NSX restomod, but also the first supercar from JAS.
JAS, a Honda partner since 1998, has already built the NSX GT3 racer and currently manufactures the Honda Civic Type R TCR race car.
Meanwhile, Pininfarina has extensive experience with luxury cars, being responsible for vehicles such as the Alfa Romeo Spider and the Ferrari 250 GT Lusso.

Together, the Italian companies developed the Tensei, which features a carbon-fiber body, “cutting-edge technology,” and an engine derived from JAS‘s motorsport expertise.
For now, the images only show how JAS‘s vision for the NSX is expected to look on the outside. Even as a restomod, the NSX remains clearly recognizable, even in its supercar interpretation.
From the headlights to the wide windshield and the subtle integrated rear spoiler, the design preserves all the hallmark features of the original Honda while enhancing its appearance.
A large front air intake can be seen, appearing to cut through the hood, along with more prominent intakes feeding the mid-mounted engine.

Along with wider front fenders, the large wheels fill the arches, giving the car an imposing stance.
At the rear, the taillights stretching across the full width of the vehicle adopt a more modern look, and the rear bumper houses two A-shaped exhaust outlets.
Although more information about the engine has not yet been revealed, the website Race & Track speculates that it will be a naturally aspirated V6 mated to a six-speed manual transmission.
JAS‘s idea is clear: take the essence of the NSX and deliver the performance of a modern supercar. Now we wait for JAS to share more details about this exciting project soon.
