A mechanic known as City Tire on TikTok went viral on the platform after sharing a story about a family of seven who were living in a car in Mississippi.

The mechanic reported that a family of two adults and five children came to his shop to repair their pickup truck, which had broken down.

He said he did not question the family about their financial situation, but based on appearances he assumed they were homeless.

“It was pretty obvious that they were living in the pickup truck and that they didn’t have heating,” he said.

The state of Mississippi has been hit by low temperatures and snowstorms that have been causing damage across the United States.

Knowing the difficult situation, the mechanic decided to install a new resistor to restore the car’s heating system without charging anything. He said he has been volunteering to help victims of the storms.

Commenters praised the professional’s attitude, and many wished that more mechanics would do the same for people who are going through hardship.

“Great guy here, we need more like him!” wrote one. “God bless you,” said another.

Some also took the opportunity to share the situation in their states during the snowstorms. “It’s tough here in Columbia, Tennessee. We all need to do what we can for each other,” wrote one man.
