McLaren has officially unveiled the 788HS, a special edition that marks the end of the supercar lineage that began with the 720S and later evolved through the 765LT and the 750S.
Developed by the McLaren Special Operations (MSO) division, the model will be produced in just 200 units and represents the most extreme version ever created for the current generation of the Super Series.

The 788HS is equipped with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine producing 777 hp and 800 Nm of torque, capable of taking it from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds, while its top speed is 330 km/h.
In addition to the increase in power, McLaren reduced the vehicle’s weight and significantly improved its aerodynamics, with highlights including the huge fixed rear wing, a new diffuser and carbon-fiber components inspired by the brand’s racing cars.

According to the manufacturer, the model offers around 10% more downforce than the 765LT, as well as recalibrated suspension, optimized brakes and tires developed for high-performance track use. The goal was to create the most performance-focused car in the family without giving up homologation for road use.

The arrival of the 788HS also symbolizes the end of an era for McLaren. The company said the model closes the chapter of the Super Series before the arrival of a new generation of supercars, which is expected to incorporate technologies developed for the W1 hypercar and future electrified projects from the British manufacturer.
