A man identified as Rafael Queiroz admitted to lying to the police about dragging a thief outside the car. He said he did it to gain engagement with the viral video. The incident occurred in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Queiroz admitted to the police on Monday (29) that he was not the driver who was driving the car in the video and that he wanted to “gain engagement” on social media.
Queiroz will be charged with making a false crime report. The police are still investigating the real case.
