A man who bought a 2006 Acura RSX for $850 on Facebook was completely shocked when he went to change the vehicle’s oil.
Caleb posted a video on TikTok to share that he was about to change the oil in his newly purchased Acura. In another video, he explained that he had bought the car on Facebook and was in the process of restoring it.
On the outside, the vehicle looked terrible, with burned blue paint on the hood and a broken driver-side window, among other issues he had to address inside.
Of course, judging by the car’s appearance, it was clear that his journey would not be smooth. Still, Caleb seemed ready for the challenge and, above all, had bought the car for just $850.
In one of the posts detailing his restoration process, Caleb showed the moment he went to change the car’s oil after the head gasket had burned. However, he was completely shocked by the color of the oil that came out.
Instead of the dark brown translucent color that typically comes from used oil during a change, Caleb’s Acura oil looked more like coffee with milk.
The beige color is a clear sign that coolant and engine oil have mixed—a failure commonly associated with a blown head gasket, a cracked cylinder head, or, in some engines, a faulty radiator.
When coolant contaminates the oil, the lubricating film’s resistance decreases, and bearings can wear out quickly, which is why mechanics warn against running the engine when “milky oil” appears.
In Caleb’s case, since he had already identified the problem as a blown head gasket, he posted another video detailing the gasket replacement process. In the end, he showed that the replacement was successful and even took his Acura for a drive.
