Mack Defense has secured an initial order of 86 heavy-duty dump trucks M917A3 from the U.S. Army, as part of a five-year contract valued at up to $221.8 million.
The order marks the first delivery under the new agreement, awarded in June 2025, following the successful completion of the company’s previous contract, initiated in 2018. The plan includes the delivery of up to 450 vehicles over the next five years.
Based on the Mack Granite platform, the M917A3 has been modified to meet military requirements, including all-wheel drive, reinforced axles, increased ground clearance, and rugged components for field operations.
Each truck is equipped with modern control systems, ABS, and advanced safety technologies, offering the capability to transport large volumes of materials directly to advanced operational sites, supporting engineering and logistics missions across various terrains.
All trucks are assembled at the Mack Experience Center in Pennsylvania, where the company has maintained a dedicated production line since 2021, following a $6.5 million investment. Mack Defense emphasizes that the M917A3 remains essential for the Army’s Engineer Regiment operations, providing durability, mobility, and payload capacity to support complex and rapid construction, infrastructure, and global logistics missions.
