Denza, the premium technology and mobility brand from the BYD Group, unveiled an exclusive version of the Z9GT created in partnership with Swiss jewelry company Chopard during the 2026 Cannes Festival in France.

The model, named Denza Chopard tailor-made Z9GT, was developed as a one-of-a-kind piece and will be donated to the 32nd amfAR Gala Cannes, a charity event held during the festival to raise funds for AIDS research.

The initiative marks a closer connection between the luxury electric vehicle sector and the world of high jewelry. According to Denza, the project follows the concept “Technology Drives Elegance,” combining electric performance, premium design, and exclusive finishes created with the participation of Chopard.

The Z9GT’s appearance also draws attention due to its highly striking style. While the goal is to convey luxury, technology, and exclusivity, the car’s design features elements that may seem somewhat excessive to part of the public, especially because of the combination of bold lines, dramatic finishes, and details designed to reinforce its connection with the jewelry world.

Founded in 2010 through a partnership between BYD and Daimler, Denza is now part of the BYD Group as a brand focused on the premium segment. The company is expanding into the European market in 2026 with an initial lineup of three models, led precisely by the Z9GT.

Inside the special edition, Chopard added amethyst stone details to the cabin, along with customized elements on the seats, multimedia system, and wireless smartphone charger. The model also received the jewelry brand’s logo on the headrests and on the so-called “light carpet.”

The collaboration also includes two custom Chopard watches created as a “His & Hers” pair, as well as a bespoke luggage set designed to accompany the vehicle. The proposal is to present the car not only as a means of transportation, but as part of an integrated luxury experience.

Mechanically, the Z9GT maintains its high-performance electric focus. The model features three motors, more than 1,150 hp, and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in under three seconds. Denza also highlights its FLASH Charging technology, which according to the brand can fully recharge the battery in around nine minutes.

The presentation in Cannes reinforces the BYD Group’s strategy to expand its presence in the global premium segment. With Denza, the Chinese company aims to compete in high-value markets by combining electric technology, sophisticated design, and partnerships with traditional luxury brands.
