The Lazar Group, affiliated with the 27th Brigade of the Ukrainian National Guard, destroyed a Buk-M1 surface-to-air missile system in the Donetsk region.

The operation, carried out with heavy bomber drones, took place in two phases: first, by attacking the shelter where the equipment was positioned, and then during its movement.

According to Ukrainian military reports, more than 50 self-propelled launchers of the Buk-M1 system have already been destroyed or damaged since the beginning of the war. The group was also responsible, in August, for destroying a launcher of the Russian S-300V system in the occupied Zaporizhzhia region. Additionally, according to data published by Forbes Ukraine, the unit has reportedly struck over 40,000 Russian targets.

The Lazar Group is led by Colonel Pavlo “Lazar” Yelizarov, who worked as a producer before the large-scale invasion. The detachment develops and manufactures its own drones and munitions, and since the battles for Bakhmut in 2023, it has established itself as one of the most effective forces in Ukraine’s defense.
