Latvia has delivered the first batch of Patria 6×6 armored personnel carriers to Ukraine as part of a military package valued at approximately $81.2 million.

The announcement was made by Latvian Prime Minister Evika Siliņa during a visit to Kyiv. According to her, a second shipment is already being prepared, totaling 42 units along with other military equipment.

The Patria 6×6 armored vehicles are manufactured in Latvia and were presented to the Ukrainian ambassador earlier this year. The factory has the capacity to produce about 30 vehicles per year but is currently committed to contracts with the Latvian army.

Developed by Finnish company Patria, the model is designed for operations in rough terrain and hostile environments, capable of reaching up to 100 km/h and traveling 700 km on a single tank.

The vehicle offers protection against gunfire, shrapnel, and mines, meeting international armor standards. With space for up to 10 soldiers, the Patria 6×6 can be equipped with various types of weaponry, such as heavy machine guns and grenade launchers, making it a versatile platform for different battlefield roles.
