Latvia has sent another batch of drones to the Ukrainian Defense Forces, reinforcing its support in the war effort against Russia.

The new shipment, consisting of 1,300 Latvian-made drones, was announced by Defense Minister Andris Sprūds on social media. With this delivery, the total number of drones supplied by Latvia to Ukraine in 2025 reaches 12,000 units, amounting to over USD 20 million.

The delivery is part of the International Drone Coalition, an initiative led by Latvia in partnership with the United Kingdom. The group provides funding and coordinates the production and shipment of this equipment within the framework of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, created in the Ramstein format in February this year.

According to the minister, the new shipment meets the scheduled timeline for the first half of 2025. A previous batch, also containing 1,300 drones, was sent to the Ukrainian army at the end of June.

Latvia remains one of the leading European partners in supplying unmanned technology to support the Ukrainian resistance.
