L3Harris Technologies revealed at AUSA 2025 in Washington, D.C., an enhanced version of its unmanned ground vehicle “Diamondback“, developed in partnership with Carnegie Robotics.

The system is designed for reconnaissance and security missions 24/7, with high mobility, modular design, and the ability to quickly adapt to different terrains and threats.

The Diamondback can operate independently or in conjunction with other autonomous vehicles, controlled by the multidomain system AMORPHOUS. Its open architecture allows for quick updates and payload swaps, while the combination of advanced mobility and mission-specific packages provides operational flexibility and reduces risks to troops. The platform also includes security monitoring software and can be controlled remotely up to 25 km or via satellite using Starlink.

According to L3Harris, the updated vehicle integrates reconnaissance, surveillance, and security functions into a single platform, offering a scalable, efficient, and cost-effective autonomous solution.

The Diamondback is designed to support the U.S. Army’s modernization and serve as a base for testing future collaborative autonomous operations, ensuring troop safety and providing a tactical advantage in complex scenarios.
