Kia has revealed the production version of the PV5, its new electric van that is set to compete with the Volkswagen ID.Buzz.

The model retains the futuristic design of the concept showcased at CES 2023, featuring robust details such as plastic body cladding, larger side mirrors, and a centrally located charging port on the front bumper.

The Cargo and Passenger versions differ by the configuration of the rear doors: the former has double side-opening doors, while the latter has a single liftgate.

The interior has not been fully revealed yet, but it is known that the vehicle will feature separate screens for the instrument panel and multimedia system, as well as large glass areas in the passenger version. Kia also plans to offer variations and adaptations of the PV5 to cater to different commercial and personal needs.

Developed exclusively as an electric vehicle, the van shares no components with the Carnival and is part of the “Platform Beyond Vehicle” (PBV) line, which may include a future electric pickup.

The official debut of the PV5 will take place on February 24 during the Kia EV Day 2025 in Spain, and the full technical specifications will be released three days later.
